Magneco/Metrel was formed in 1981 by a merger of Magneco, Inc., an Illinois corporation manufacturing refractory shapes and Metrel, Inc., an Ohio corporation manufacturing monolithic refractories. Magneco/Metrel, Inc. provides ceramic products and systems to the steel, foundry, power and technical ceramic industries in North America and Europe. Its 181 employees produced $33 milion in sales in 1999. Since its founding, Magneco/Metrel has continued to make productivity, quality and process improvements.
